At IKON we take great pride in working alongside emerging chefs and sommeliers, creating a tailored experience designed to enhance your culinary and oenological knowledge.
For upcoming chefs, IKON generate programs that include assisting head chefs to identifying various restaurants for “staging”. Staging is a process where young, aspiring chefs agree to an unpaid internship working at restaurants for a certain period of time. Their remuneration is in the form of experience, acquiring culinary skills and the opportunity to work in award-winning kitchens.
IKON believe in enhancing your travel experience by introducing you to new cultures and exciting cuisines. We have sound partnerships with a variety of chefs matched with a shared knowledge and passion for food & wine, all within our native countries (Spain, U.S. and South Africa). All these elements allow us to create a unique “triangle” where chefs have the opportunity to share and learn from other culinary geniuses. This will either be in the form of staging or at exclusive events, globally hosted by IKON. These exclusive events provide the everyday foodie with the chance to experience top, world-class food and wine pairings within their own country.
Chefs, Importers and Sommeliers have first-hand opportunity to experience and visit a variety of olive oil, cheese, Iberian ham and wine producers. These types of activities are also recommended for commercial intentions and product sourcing.
For Sommeliers, IKON creates educational visits to vintage wine regions around the world. Travel to Spain and Portugal, exploring different Port, Sherry and Wine producers. Discover Bordeaux and Burgundy wines in France, or search for Italian classics such as Barolo in Piedmont, and Chianti in Tuscany.
