Our Zimbabwe Luxury Hosted Journey will guide you through the magical national parks of Zimbabwe, exposing you to a variety of wildlife experiences, seemingly untouched lands and stories of enchantment. Spend 2 weeks exploring Mana Pools National Park, Matusadona National Park and Hwange National Park.
Commencing in the heart of the Zambezi Valley, just 300km from the Mozambique border, Mana Pools National Park’s wildlife dots the floodplains and provides endless views. This part of the country truly leaves one astounded by the beauty and biodiversity which includes the river, floodplains, and mountains of the Great Rift Valley. The wildlife of the Mana Pools National Park includes large concentrations of buffalo, elephant and hippo which sit in the forefront of the mountains, perfect for photographers. Mana Pools National Park is also well known for the armchair safari experience – spotting wildlife from your own private porch. In addition to safari drives and armchair safaris, you can also experience this national park on foot, in a canoe or fishing along the river.
From an inland wildlife experience to the water’s edge this journey heads towards the majestic Zambezi River where you may take part in a number of activities which include canoeing on the river, fishing off an island and safari drives along the floodplains. Observe wildlife up close with crocodiles sunbathing along the river banks to hippos wallowing in the river.
Panoramic views overlook Lake Kariba from remote hills. This next stop offers a change in scenery and is well known for lake cruises and echoes the ancient legends of this adventurous area.
Matusadona National park, a spectacle that is very unique. This national park is home to many animals that were saved during operation Noah when they became unsafe at the water’s edge along Lake Kariba and relocated to the National Park. Here you will encounter Africa’s largest concentration of wild lions outside of the Ngorongoro Crater in Tanzania.
The Hwange National Park is a true haven for wildlife and a perfect way to round off this adventure of Zimbabwe. Hwange National Park has large concentrations of giraffe, zebra and elephant. This Big 5 national park is a birders paradise and boasts landscapes of grassy savannas, sparse woodlands and ancient sand dunes.
Your final stay will be at Mosi-Oa-Tunya National park in Zambia and will include game drives, cultural village tours, sunset river cruises, fishing and visits to Victoria Falls.
