Experience the Way of St. James, carefully curated by our IKON experts, and share this life enhancing experience with pilgrims from around the world. Explore the old town of Santiago de Compostela, declared a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 1985. Stay in the charming Pazos de Galicia, taste the amazing Galician gastronomy paired with internationally recognized Albariño wines at prestigious wineries. Sail through the Ría de Arosa in a traditional fishing boat and experience firsthand the life of the ancient fishermen all surrounded by a landscape of Roman heritage and old civilization splendor.

Arriving in Santiago de Compostela, you will be staying in O Corgo at a charming hotel on the banks of the river Miño in perfect surroundings to relax and get tuned into the Galician landscape and countryside which will be your travel companion for the next few days. Take in the tranquillity of your surroundings and see an exact reflection of what life was like until the second half of the last century.

Starting at Sarria we have a five day schedule to complete the last 100 km of The Way to Santiago. We will travel along rural routes or “corredoiras” through oak woods and small villages like Lavandeira o Ferreiros, crossing one of the many bridges over the river Miño. Once in Lugo we will visit its famous Roman wall (World Heritage Site), Castromaior and the mountain range of Ligonde with its exceptional views and rural life, meandering through the villages of Eirexe and Ligonde.

Halfway through our itinerary, we will hike along rural scenic routes, crossing the beautiful medieval Furelos Bridge. In our penultimate stage we will ascend and descend small hills in an eminently agricultural landscape passing by the well-known chapel of Santa Irene. The trip will end off at the Monte do Gozo from where we will see the towers of the cathedral of Compostela, only 4 km away from the city.

A trip to Galicia is not complete without visiting its estuaries, coastline and some of its magnificent wineries. For a feel of a different Galicia, we will dedicate our last day to visit the Galician Rias Bajas, a natural area rich in biodiversity and great beauty. Our trip ends with a tour of the different wineries which include an introduction to award winning wines.
